Not only in Europe, but around the world, missionaries often pursue advanced degrees in linguistics or related disciplines to enhance their ability to understand the languages they work with, to develop their skills as consultants or to develop theories that will help other translators. Writing a dissertation or thesis is a huge project. Pray for Andrew who hopes to finish the first draft of his dissertation this year; for Richard who aims to finish his thesis this year; and for Bernadet who is working on her PhD while caring for a new baby son.
